Music production

From the start of his musical project in 2013, Laroze devoted himself to production. Previously assigned to the classic house scene, he has released around ten records on labels like Let’s Play House, D.KO, Flux, and others. In 2023, his artistic project takes a sharp turn towards trance and progressive house, but does not fail to find its audience.

Behind the decks, Laroze sets no limits. As inspired by trance as progressive house, or downtempo, he never forgets to make links with warmer styles like house or italo-disco. With his broad and extensive culture, he is capable of going from 90 to 145 bpm and knows how to adapt to varied contexts by reading the audience. In love with 90’s and 2000’s sounds, he likes long sets which offer him the opportunity to take people on a journey.

About Laroze

A two-part story

2013 – 2022 :
The Soulful Era

Created in 2013, Laroze’s project initially took on soulful overtones. Very inspired by the Classic House of Chicago, NYC or Detroit, Garage, Acid-House and also Disco was able to release some records on labels like Let’s Play House, D.KO, or Flux. This first part of his career led him to play in NYC, London, Mannheim, Paris, and of course Bordeaux (his hometown). During this period, Laroze was able to share the stage with Kerri Chandler, Moodymann, Chez Damier, MCDE, Floating Points, Dan Shake, and Marcellus Pittman (among others). His music, very inspired by old-fashioned sampling and in the pure French tradition, has been remixed or played by artists like Andrès or Move D. But as for many artists, the COVID pandemic marked the end of a cycle for Laroze, who does not forget his origins, which he always likes to subtly include in his productions and mixes. This background and culture from the origins of our scene are not forgotten.

2023 – 2025 :
The Progressive Era

As soon as the COVID pandemic ended, Laroze undertook an artistic migration leading him towards more jerky rhythms and more synthetic sounds. Despite 8 years of experience on the electronic scene, he re-imagines his project as if it had never existed and decides to start again at the bottom of the chain. The result is a first self-produced EP called « Natural Stupidity Vol.1 » which he imagines, masters, and distributes by himself. The international scene quickly took over these Trance, Breakbeat, Progressive House and Downtempo pieces. His music is then heard in internationally renowned festivals and clubs such as Love International, Dekmantel, Live At Robert Johnson, and Panorama Bar. The second volume of this series of EPs was released in 2024, and met with immediate success with the public and renowned artists such as Job Jobse, Matisa, Abdul Raeva, and many others.

2009 – 2016 :
Promoter & editor for SeekSickSound

For many years, Laroze was also an event organizer in his hometown of Bordeaux. With the help of his team of enthusiasts and volunteers, he organized the booking of huge artists like Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, DJ Stingray, MCDE, Marcel Dettmann, Rhodad, Dan Shake, Luke Slater, Speedy J, Palms Trax, Surgeon, and many others. He was also an editor for the webzine of the same name, for which he wrote numerous columns, reviews, and interviews with artists such as Laurent Garnier.
